Process:

Manila Clams and Pacific Oyster Broodstock are raised and conditioned at our Kona hatchery for year round spawning.

Conditioned broodstock are naturally spawned or strip spawned and the eggs and sperm are mixed to fertilize the eggs, and shortly after the larvae develop.

Later the larvae are put into large tanks and fed a microalgae diet of various diatoms and dinoflagellates allowing them to grow and metamorphose to the point at which they become ready to set about 2 to 3 weeks later.

Clams and Oysters are set in down-wellers and later put into forced up-well systems which provide a steady algae diet until they have reached a marketable seed size.
